Friendly Advise on buying promo flights:

before buying a promo flight from group buying sites make sure to check the flight times applicable for the promo 1st. If you land in Kalibo you still have to take a 2 hour bus/van ride to Caticlan Boat Dock plus 20mins boat ride to Boracay Island and minivan or tricycle ride to your hotel. Pls take note that if you buy a flight that leaves at 11pm you will arrive in kalibo at 12-1am .During these times there will be no more available bus (2 hour) and boat ride to Boracay so you will have to sleep in Kalibo for 1 night and leave the next morning which will end up costing you more money. If you get an early flight coming back there will be no transfers available because the boat dock doesnt open until 5 or 6am so you will need to leave boracay a day before and sleep in Kalibo again which will end up costing you more money again. Here the list of advisable flight times to match the land and sea transfers availability.

Manila to Kalibo : Choose any flight between 7am to 5pm
Kalibo to Manila : Choose any flight from 1pm onwards but pls take note that last hotel pick up is 3pm no matter how late your flight is .

However Public transportation is available if you prefer a to leave late.

If you get good flights the transfer is only 425 via kalibo per way or 325 via caticlan per way but if you get a terrible flight you can take the public transportation or sleep in Kalibo for the night.

Public Van is available anytime but will cost around 1500-3k per way. Make sure to check if Aircon is working before getting in because some public van drivers may tell you they have Aircon but its not working

Public Boat is only available between 5/6am to 8/9pm only . Public Boat is not advisable for tourist because the boat is crowded, old, dirty and some passengers may be carrying animals like chickens, dogs etc

The Boracay venture of Manila Water Co. has secured a P500-million loan from two local banks, enabling the utility firm to service the entire Boracay island by 2014. The deal includes an option to raise the loan amount to P 1 billion.

Boracay Water is a public-private partnership between Manila Water and the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority, formerly known as the Philippine Tourism Authority.

The venture, which took over the island’s water and sewerage operations on January 1, 2010, has been able to provide water supply to 96 percent of Boracay’s population at an average water pressure of 30 pounds per square inch on a 24/7 basis.

The P500-million loan was from the Development Bank of the Philippines and Security Bank, through the Philippine Water Revolving Fund (PWRF).

Manila Water said its Boracay venture upgraded the island’s sewage treatment plant. It also claimed that the treated water released “has been safe for swimming and aquatic life.”

The PWRF is a collaboration of the national government, the United States Agency for International Development, and the Japan International Cooperation Agency.

Manila Water said the deal “is the first and the biggest loan provided by the PWRF to a private company from the water sector.”

The boracay landmark loan was signed last Friday in Manila.

Note that Boracay was able to negotiate very good rates and waived significant fees from DBP and Security Bank. Also, the loan gives financial flexibility having a payment tenor of 20 years – the longest in the industry. It has been said, that this loan is a landmark deal.

The signing strengthens Boracay Tourism commitments to ensure 100% water service coverage by 2014 and waste-water service by 2018. Both DBP and Security Bank were actually excited that they are now partners to Boracay Island’s tourism and environment sustainable development.
